JD Signature Bench

A solid, handmade garden bench built to last.

The JD Signature Bench is handcrafted in Somerset from pressure-treated timber, combining a simple, timeless design with traditional joinery for a genuinely strong construction.

Built with traditional mortise and tenon joinery

The legs are jointed into the seat frame using mortise and tenon joints and bonded with exterior-grade wood adhesive.

Rather than relying solely on screws or surface fixings, the legs are mechanically locked into the frame, creating a strong and rigid connection designed to withstand everyday use and outdoor conditions.

This traditional method of joinery takes more time and care to produce, but it gives the bench a level of strength and craftsmanship that you simply don’t get from a basic screw-fixed garden bench.

Choose your finish

Essential Finish – £95

A practical option for customers who want the same strong construction without the additional cosmetic finishing.

The timber is accurately cut and assembled, with the bench lightly sanded to remove sharp edges and splinters. It is supplied in its natural pressure-treated timber finish, ready for you to paint, stain or leave as it is.

Signature Finish – £145

Our fully finished version.

Every surface is carefully sanded, all exposed edges are routed and softened, and the bench is finished by hand with Osmo Natural Oil Woodstain in Pearl Grey.

The result is a smoother, more refined finish that gives the bench its distinctive contemporary appearance while allowing the natural character of the timber to remain visible.
